History and Mission Statement The Wisconsin Playmakers was founded by Mike Lee in 2006. In 2009 Mike Lee left to start his own individual instruction academy called Mike Lee Basketball. In 2009 Jason Jesperson became the director of the program. The Wisconsin Playmakers have now grown to 10 teams from grades 5th through 11th. The Wisconsin Playmakers Youth Basketball program is a subordinate under the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. The purpose of the AAU Boys' Basketball Program is to initiate, stimulate, and improve opportunities for amateur boys' basketball competition, and to promote and develop leadership, sportsmanship, physical fitness, educational opportunities, and athletic excellence. Our Mission is to serve as the most complete youth basketball organization in the United States. We are fully committed to directing top notch offensive skills camps, providing the most detailed individual instruction, and offering a nationally competitive AAU program. We are dedicated to creating a family atmosphere, as well as teaching our players the life skills that go hand in hand with success on the court: hard work, persistence, self-discipline and self-motivation. We know through experience that for boys and girls who have a passion for basketball, the court is the best classroom to teach these values." |
